vGreens Joins Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy Delegation to Saudi Arabia
What an honor – this week vGreens has been invited by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to join the official delegation to Saudi Arabia. Led by Minister Katherina Reiche, this visit represented the largest delegation since the formation of the current Federal Government – sending a clear signal that the partnership between Germany and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is entering a strategic, future-oriented chapter.
Our CEO, Dr. Maximilian Hartmann, joined senior industrial leaders like thyssenkrupp CEO Miguel Ángel López Borrego to discuss a shared economic future centered on innovation and sustainable transformation.
Product Intelligence at KAUST
A key highlight of the journey was the Saudi-German Innovation Summit at KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology). vGreens was selected as one of only six startups to present our mission to digitize food production on this global stage.
Max showcased how our software platform vGreens Lab utilizes proprietary sensors and intelligent AI models to unlock the Growth Code of plants to enable Production on Point. This way our technology addresses critical challenges like water scarcity and fragile supply chains, ensuring predictable yields regardless of environmental conditions.

Scaling Through Strategic Partnerships
The trip also fostered vital ecosystem connections, highlighted by a new MoU between the BRYCK Startup Alliance and KAUST. This substantive bridge between the Ruhr innovation ecosystem and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia creates a clear pathway for joint pilots and industrial partnerships – like vGreens’ mission to digitize food production. By integrating science, technology, and entrepreneurship, this collaboration establishes an ecosystem where ideas move from lab to industry and from prototype to deployment.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Federal Ministry and the Start2 Group for the invitation and organization. vGreens returns from Riyadh more focused than ever on operating with global impact to secure the future of food.
